Ayodhya, UP: In a significant development, Krishna Mohan, a retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed as the new trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra.
The announcement was made during the trust’s meeting held at the Shri Mani Ram Das Chavani premises in Ayodhya under the chairmanship of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President of the trust.
Replaces Late Trustee Kameshwar Chaupal
Krishna Mohan fills the vacancy created by the demise of Kameshwar Chaupal, a respected trustee from Bihar. The decision to appoint Krishna Mohan was taken unanimously, honoring both his service record and his longstanding commitment to social and cultural work post-retirement.
Chaupal’s position was seen as symbolic and significant, as he was one of the first Dalit members of the trust. Krishna Mohan, who hails from the same community, was selected to maintain that representation and legacy.
From Forest Service to Social Service
A native of Chandrapur village in the Shahabad assembly constituency of Hardoi district, Krishna Mohan served in the Maharashtra cadre of the Indian Forest Service. After retiring, he aligned himself with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and has since remained active in various social service initiatives from his residence on Cinema Road in Hardoi city.
One Vacancy Still Unfilled
While Krishna Mohan’s appointment brings the trust one step closer to full strength, another seat remains vacant following the passing of Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, another respected trustee. Discussions are ongoing, but no consensus has been reached yet on who will fill this position.
The trust plays a pivotal role in overseeing the construction and management of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a project of both religious and national significance.
