Uttarakhand IPS Lokeshwar Singh Resigns After Selection for Prestigious UN-Linked International Role

Uttarakhand: Senior IPS officer Lokeshwar Singh (IPS:2014:UK), currently serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, has tendered his resignation from the Indian Police Service after being selected for a high-level international assignment associated with the United Nations. This move marks a significant milestone in his professional journey, opening the door to a global platform focused on peacekeeping and sustainable development.

Resignation and Clearance Process Underway

According to official sources, Singh has formally submitted his resignation to the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters and the state government. The final approval from the competent authorities is awaited. Once all necessary clearances are granted, he will be officially relieved from his duties in the state police cadre to take charge of his new assignment overseas.

Lokeshwar Singh joined the IPS in 2014 and has completed around 11 years of service. Known for his professional integrity and effective policing strategies, Singh has earned a reputation as a proactive and people-centric officer. Since his posting in Pauri Garhwal, he has been instrumental in improving law enforcement and community policing initiatives in the region.

His upcoming role is reported to be linked with the United Nations and will center around global priorities such as peacekeeping, institutional integrity, and sustainable development.
