The new complex will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 160 crore and will feature 102 fully equipped flats. These flats will include modern amenities and are expected to provide a conducive environment for MLAs to engage in public service and welfare.

Focus on Modernization and Public Welfare

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of introspection and future planning, highlighting that the new construction reflects the state’s forward-looking approach. He stated that Rs. 5 lakh has been provisioned for each MLA’s office for modernization. Additionally, Dr. Yadav announced the approval of the second phase of the MLA Rest House construction.

Dr. Yadav also expressed the goal of placing Bhopal at the top in the upcoming Swachhta Survey, citing previous achievements in urban cleanliness and asserting his government’s commitment to infrastructure, cleanliness, and social harmony.

Cultural Integration and National Vision

Linking development with cultural pride, Dr. Yadav praised the global acceptance of Indian traditions and reiterated the state’s dedication to religious inclusiveness. He highlighted efforts to include tribal communities in the Mahakal procession and initiatives to promote social cohesion through temple-centered events.

He also mentioned national developments, including the abrogation of Article 370 and the protection of Muslim women’s rights, crediting Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s leadership in maintaining national integrity and accelerating progress.

Assembly Speaker and Ministers Speak on Progress

Assembly Speaker Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said the 1958-built MLA rest house had become outdated and that new infrastructure is crucial for MLAs to serve efficiently. He lauded the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in aiming to make Madhya Pradesh a leader in development and digital transformation with the upcoming e-Assembly project.

Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya highlighted how modern rest houses would support MLAs with updated facilities, safety measures, and digital infrastructure. He also appreciated the cleanliness awards won by eight cities in the state, calling it a reflection of the leadership’s commitment.

Public Works Minister Mr. Rakesh Singh called the Bhoomi Pujan a symbol of the strengthening democratic structure. He noted that the new MLA Rest House will adhere to global construction standards and be both earthquake- and fire-resistant.

Timeline and Amenities

Principal Secretary of the Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Awadhesh Pratap Singh, informed that the project would span 14 acres and be completed within 18 months. The complex will feature amenities such as vehicle parking, a gym, hospital, shopping complex, fire alarms, and a sewage treatment plant.

The event was attended by a host of dignitaries including Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Minister of State Ms. Krishna Gaur, former Assembly Speakers Mr. D. Sitasharan Sharma and Mr. Girish Gautam, MLA and former Protem Speaker Mr. Rameshwar Sharma, and other MLAs and civic leaders such as Mr. Vishnu Khatri, Mr. Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor Ms. Malti Rai, and Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr. Kishan Suryavanshi.
