Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the Women’s Empowerment and Tribal Pride Honor Ceremony held in Sarai village of Singrauli district on Friday, made a series of significant announcements aimed at boosting tribal welfare, women’s empowerment, and regional development. Highlighting Singrauli’s strategic and mineral-rich location, he declared that the district would soon receive a medical college, and from next year, students would graduate as doctors from the region.
Education and Youth Empowerment
Dr. Yadav announced the disbursement of laptop funds to 94,234 meritorious students across Madhya Pradesh, with 60% being girls and 40% boys. He also noted that over the last two years, more than 15,000 scooties have been distributed to high-performing students in tribal regions. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holistic development and equitable access to education.
Key Announcements and Schemes
Guru Purnima Celebrations (July 10):
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, inaugurations will be held for schools, colleges, and hostels, while students in government schools will receive bicycles, uniforms, and books.
Ladli Behna Yojana Enhancements:
Girls born under this scheme will be given over Rs. 1 lakh by the time they turn 18. Eligible sisters will also receive Rs. 250 as Shagun before Raksha Bandhan and Rs. 1,500 per month after Diwali.
Economic Progress:
Dr. Yadav highlighted that per capita income in the state has risen from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 1.52 lakh, a reflection of government-led economic growth.
Women’s Representation:
The state has implemented 50% reservation for women in local bodies, with a commitment to ensuring 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections as well.
Focus on Tribal Welfare
Dr. Yadav emphasized tribal empowerment through schemes such as:
- Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarozgar Yojana
- Tantya Mama Arthik Kalyan Yojana
These schemes are aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic independence among tribal communities.
Healthcare and Infrastructure Development
Medical & Emergency Services:
- Air ambulance services for critical patients.
- Mortuary vans to be deployed in every district.
- MADA Hospital to be upgraded to a Community Health Center (CHC).
- New 100-bed hospital survey initiated in Sarai.
- 400-bed hospital planned as part of the new medical college.
Infrastructure:
- Construction of 4-lane roads in Singrauli.
- Establishment of primary health centers, electric substations, and water supply schemes.
Rs. 503 Crore Development Package for Singrauli
Dr. Yadav launched 20 development projects worth Rs. 104.67 crore and laid the foundation stones for 34 projects worth Rs. 398.41 crore. Notable projects include:
- Sandipani Higher Secondary Schools in Chakaria and Hirvaha.
- Electric substation at Harfari.
- Multiple road and water infrastructure projects.
Honouring Tribal Beneficiaries
Four tribal beneficiaries—Mr. Mahabali Singh, Mr. Shankar Singh Panika, Mr. Vansh Bahadur Singh, and Mr. Dayal Singh—were felicitated for availing benefits under state welfare schemes.
