Bhopal: On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed a state-level event in Bhopal, unveiling major plans to boost employment and highlighting the state government’s welfare achievements.
Major Recruitment Drive for Unemployed Youth
CM Yadav revealed that the state government is currently recruiting 100,000 employees across various departments and aims to hire an additional 2.5 lakh unemployed youth within the next five years. This large-scale recruitment initiative is part of the government’s focus on reducing unemployment and empowering the youth of Madhya Pradesh.
Praise for Operation Sindur and National Security
The Chief Minister applauded Operation Sindur, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising it as a decisive action that sent a strong message to Pakistan. Yadav emphasized the government’s efforts to equip the armed forces with advanced technology and modern weapons, reinforcing India’s sovereignty and national integrity.
Economic Growth and Vision for Self-Reliant India
Yadav highlighted India’s rapid economic progress, noting that the country’s economy is currently the world’s fourth largest and is expected to move to the third position soon. He underscored Madhya Pradesh’s contribution to this growth, with the state’s per capita income rising from ₹1.39 lakh to ₹1.52 lakh per annum in 2024-25. The government is working to realize the vision of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) through various developmental projects.
Infrastructure and Agricultural Development
The Chief Minister spoke about the expansion of air connectivity and improvements in irrigation infrastructure. Under the PM Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, over 8 lakh beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh have received loans ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000. The newly launched PM Mitra Park in Dhar aims to boost the textile sector by connecting agriculture with international markets.
Madhya Pradesh leads the country with the largest certified organic farming area, promoting natural and sustainable farming methods inspired by the Prime Minister. More than 14 lakh farmers have benefited from ₹1383 crore in crop insurance payouts.
Policy Innovations and Rural Empowerment
The state is the first in India to pass and notify the “Jan Vishwas Bill,” enhancing ease of doing business and governance. Madhya Pradesh also leads the nation in implementing the “Swamitva Yojana” for rural property ownership clarity. Additionally, funding for gaushalas (cow shelters) has doubled from ₹20 to ₹40 per cattle.
The “Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana” focuses on making villages self-sufficient through targeted development.
Support for Farmers and Industrial Growth
CM Yadav shared that farmers have received ₹46,700 crore in financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and state welfare schemes over the past 18 months. The upcoming “Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Industry Conclave 2025” aims to link farming with entrepreneurship and cutting-edge technology to increase farmer incomes.
Farmers are now being provided permanent electricity connections at a nominal rate of ₹5, with a plan to distribute 32 lakh solar pumps over three years to reduce electricity costs. Efforts are underway to ensure 24-hour power supply through 10 lakh connections.
In Mandsaur, 11 industrial units worth ₹3812 crore were inaugurated, generating employment for 6,850 people. To further encourage youth employment, the government will provide a monthly incentive of ₹5,000 to young men and women working in sectors such as textiles.
