Bhopal/Katni: Madhya Pradesh is fast emerging as the mining capital of India, powered by an abundance of mineral wealth, investment-friendly policies, and technological innovation. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in a statement ahead of the Mineral Conclave scheduled in Katni on August 23, declared that the state’s mining success is strengthening both the local economy and India’s industrial ambitions.
Under Dr. Yadav’s leadership, Madhya Pradesh has taken a commanding lead in mineral auctions — securing first position nationally by auctioning 29 mineral blocks in 2022-23 alone. The state was also the first in India to operationalize the Centre’s critical minerals policy, setting benchmarks in the strategic mineral space.
National Recognition for Mineral Leadership
Madhya Pradesh’s achievements haven’t gone unnoticed. The state bagged the first prize in 2022 and second prize in 2025 at the All-India Mining Ministers’ Conference, recognizing its unmatched performance in mineral block auctions.
“Madhya Pradesh is not only rich in resources but also proactive in policy, which makes it a hub for mineral-based industrial growth. Our success is aligned with PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India,” said CM Dr Yadav.
Mineral Revenue Surges Past ₹10,000 Crore for First Time
In FY 2024–25, the state achieved a record-breaking 23% increase in mineral revenue collection, crossing the ₹10,000 crore mark for the first time – a sharp rise from ₹4,958 crore in FY 2023–24.
This performance is backed by transparent auctioning, investor-friendly reforms, and the successful auction of 103 mineral blocks, which are projected to generate ₹1.68 lakh crore in the future.
The Bhopal Mining Conclave in October 2024 drew investment proposals worth over ₹20,000 crore, further boosting the sector’s momentum.
