New Delhi: A high-level review meeting on National Highway development in Madhya Pradesh was held in New Delhi today, focusing on 45 ongoing highway projects with a combined length of 1,832 kilometers and an estimated investment of ₹29,278 crore. The meeting highlighted progress on major infrastructure initiatives, including the proposed Atal Progress-Way (Chambal Expressway), and discussed strategies for timely project implementation.

Comprehensive Review of Highway Projects

During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of all 45 National Highway projects currently underway across Madhya Pradesh. Discussions focused on:

Positive Progress on Atal Progress-Way (Chambal Expressway)

A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on the Atal Progress-Way, a proposed 6-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway, also known as the Chambal Expressway.

Officials expressed optimism regarding the alignment and planning of the expressway, which is envisioned as a strategic corridor to:

  • Improve regional connectivity
  • Facilitate faster movement of goods and passengers
  • Boost industrial development and trade in the region

The expressway is expected to become a key infrastructure asset for Madhya Pradesh, integrating multiple economic zones and reducing logistic bottlenecks.
