Gwalior: In a significant boost to the tourism sector of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced investment proposals worth approximately ₹3,500 crore during the second day of the Regional Tourism Conclave held in Gwalior on Saturday. The event marked a major milestone in the state’s push to position itself as a key tourism and investment hub in India.

IndiGo’s ₹100 Crore CSR Contribution
In a landmark development, IndiGo Airlines committed ₹100 crore from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund for the renovation of the historic Man Singh Fort in Gwalior. The fort, a significant heritage site, will receive much-needed restoration work, contributing to the region’s growing tourism appeal.
CM Mohan Yadav’s Vision for Madhya Pradesh’s Growth
Speaking at the conclave, CM Yadav expressed his confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s future, saying, “The conclave has brought many opportunities for local people, and the state will continue on the path of progress.” He also praised India’s economic achievements, noting the country’s rise to becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy, with a vision to become the third-largest soon.
In a special announcement, the Chief Minister revealed a ₹50 crore initiative for building a permanent campus of Man Singh University in Gwalior. Highlighting Gwalior’s unique cultural heritage, he remarked that the beauty of landmarks like Man Singh Palace was so distinctive that “even Asian Paints would fail to match its colors.”
Tourism Minister’s Push for Investment
Tourism Minister Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is ‘rolling out the red carpet’ for investors, with the introduction of a single-window tourism policy. This new policy has streamlined the process by reducing required permissions from 30 to just 10, aiming to make the state more investor-friendly. He also mentioned the state’s booming tourism sector, with over 13.47 crore tourists visiting Madhya Pradesh last year alone.

In an inspiring session, actor Piyush Mishra shared his journey from Gwalior to Bollywood, stressing the need for proper training and infrastructure for aspiring actors and filmmakers in Madhya Pradesh.
