The Mandal Bechraji Special Investment Regional Development Authority (MBSIRDA) is spearheading large-scale infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 759 crore to boost North Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem. The Gujarat government announced that these initiatives are strategically aligned with the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for North Gujarat, to be held on October 9–10, 2025, in Mehsana.
Completed and Ongoing Road Development
As part of its development plan, MBSIRDA has already completed the construction of 33 km of development plan roads at an investment of approximately Rs. 190 crore. In addition, 66 km of Town Planning (TP) roads with integrated facilities such as water supply, sewage, and industrial effluent pipelines are under construction at a cost of nearly Rs. 500 crore. These projects aim to provide seamless connectivity and create a world-class industrial environment.
Strengthening Support Infrastructure
To further enhance industrial support systems, MBSIRDA is investing Rs. 70 crore in critical infrastructure. The planned projects include a 20 million litre per day water treatment plant, three sewage treatment plants with capacities ranging from 4 to 15 million litres per day, and a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) with a capacity of 19 million litres per day. This integrated approach ensures that the region’s industrial expansion remains environmentally sustainable.
North Gujarat as an Emerging Investment Hub
The upcoming VGRC at Mehsana, an extension of the globally recognized Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), will showcase the strengths of North Gujarat in agriculture, dairy, food processing, and automobile industries. The progress at MBSIRDA underscores the region’s preparedness to attract significant investments, making it a focal point for inclusive and sustainable growth.
Inclusive Industrial Growth Model
By aligning large-scale infrastructure projects with the VGRC agenda, Gujarat is reinforcing its commitment to balanced regional development. MBSIRDA’s initiatives not only highlight industrial readiness but also strengthen public participation in shaping North Gujarat’s economic future. The focus on modern infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and diversified industries reflects the state’s vision of inclusive industrial development.
