The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Megh Nath Goyal for the post of Director (Technical) at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
The selection was made during a PESB meeting held on May 20, 2025. Goyal is currently serving as Chief General Manager (Unit Head) at NFL’s Nangal Unit, bringing decades of technical and managerial experience within the fertilizer sector.
Goyal was chosen from a strong pool of seven candidates drawn from top PSUs including National Fertilizers Ltd, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), and NMDC Ltd.
The post of Director (Technical) plays a critical role in overseeing technical operations and driving innovation across NFL’s production units. Goyal’s elevation is seen as a natural progression in his distinguished career at NFL, and his appointment is expected to further strengthen the company’s technical leadership. His principal responsibility will be to exercise control over the efficient operation of the plants of the company in a manner that would ensure optimum utilization of resources. He will also acts as Principal Adviser of the company in all technical and operational matters.
The recommendation will now be forwarded for approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
