Shillong: The Meghalaya government has formed a Review Committee to examine the service records of IAS officers belonging to the Meghalaya wing of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. The move has been taken in accordance with Rule 16(3) of the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.
Composition of the Review Committee
The committee will be chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed. Other members include:
- Dr. John Berchmans Ekka, Additional Chief Secretary, Assam
- Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary, Meghalaya
- F.R. Kharkongor, Principal Secretary, Meghalaya
- T.G. Momin, Additional Secretary, Meghalaya
The committee is tasked with examining the service records of IAS officers to ensure proper documentation and adherence to service norms under the All India Services Rules.

Objective of the Panel
The committee has been constituted to:
- Review official service records of IAS officers
- Ensure compliance with the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958
- Maintain transparency and accountability in recording and updating service histories
- Recommend necessary actions for discrepancies, if any
This initiative reflects the Meghalaya government’s emphasis on administrative oversight and meticulous record-keeping for its IAS officers.
