The government of Maharashtra recently appointed a former Maharashtra Chief Secretary and Retired IAS officer, Mr. Manoj Saunik, as the Chairman of the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). Officer Saunik, a 1987 batch Retired IAS officer, shall replace Mr. Ajoy Mehta (1984-batch IAS officer), who shall be stepping down in September.
Mr. Manoj Saunik is the spouse of the incumbent Maharashtra Chief Secretary, Ms. Sujata Saunik (1987-batch IAS officer). The MahaRERA is a nodal body established by the state government to regulate and promote the real estate sector in the state.
