New Delhi: Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025: International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on August 28, 2025. The event was organised by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army).

Strengthening Global Military Healthcare Cooperation

In his address, Sanjay Seth underscored India’s commitment to advancing military medicine through international collaboration, cutting-edge research, and respect for the legacy of service. He described MILMEDICON-2025 as a tribute to India’s warriors and a step toward building future-ready healthcare systems.

The two-day conference focuses on innovations, challenges, and reforms in military medicine. In line with the Indian Army’s “Year of Reforms,” it is positioned as a strategic initiative rather than just a scientific gathering. The aim is to strengthen global partnerships while enhancing trauma care capabilities in operational environments.

Centenary of Military Nursing Service

A key highlight of the conference is the commemoration of 100 years of the Military Nursing Service. This centenary celebration honours the contributions of women in combat medical care and highlights the spirit of Nari Shakti. Sessions include discussions on advanced trauma care, integration of artificial intelligence in military healthcare, and innovative emergency response trends.

Panels will also deliberate on the evolving role of women in combat and leadership, marking a new chapter in military medical services.

International Participation and Collaboration

Over 15 foreign delegations are attending MILMEDICON-2025, participating in panel discussions, poster presentations, and scientific exhibitions. Senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces, global military medical experts, civilian healthcare specialists, and academia are contributing to the deliberations, making it a truly international platform for dialogue and innovation in battlefield healthcare.
