Bhopal: The Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal is all set to come alive with the fragrance of herbs and the vibrancy of local culture as the 11th International Herbal Forest Fair prepares for its grand opening. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the week-long event on Wednesday, December 17, at 5 PM. This year’s fair, themed “Prosperous Forests, Happy People,” will continue until December 23.

Grand Opening and Special Launches

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is expected to unveil several initiatives aimed at promoting Madhya Pradesh’s forest wealth and minor forest produce (MFP). A major highlight will be the release of the anthem “MFP – Our Pride,” celebrating the contributions of tribal communities and forest produce collectors across the state.

In addition, the Chief Minister will unveil the new logo of MFP Park, reflecting a modern and global identity for the brand. A specially curated ‘Wellness Kit’ by MFP Park, offering pure forest-based medicinal products to the public, will also be launched, showcasing a blend of natural health and purity.

A Seven-Day Cultural and Trade Extravaganza

Organized by the Forest Department and the Madhya Pradesh State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation, the fair is not just a marketplace for rare herbs but also a platform for culture, arts, and health. Daily events will feature traditional folk dances, classical Kathak performances, Dhrupad singing, and Kabir Vani spiritual presentations.

Children and youth can enjoy competitions including street plays, fancy dress contests, solo acting performances, and yoga shows. A dedicated workshop for traditional Ayurvedic practitioners will also be held, allowing experts from across the country to share their knowledge on herbs and their medicinal benefits.

Closing Ceremony and Awards

The fair will conclude on December 23 with an elaborate closing ceremony, where winners of various competitions will be honored. The festivities will end with traditional dance performances, celebrating the week-long fusion of nature, wellness, and culture.
