Bhopal: A major infrastructure upgrade is set to transform the Chief Minister’s residential complex at Shyamla Hills, as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art auditorium, a grand guest house, and a large dining facility on his birthday.
The project aims to enhance administrative, cultural, and official hosting capabilities within the CM residence campus, making it more modern, functional, and technologically advanced.
“Jan-Man Sabhagar” to Replace Existing Dome
The highlight of the project is the construction of a massive high-tech auditorium, named Jan-Man Sabhagar, which will replace the existing dome structure inside the campus.
Spread across 2,226.70 square meters, the auditorium will have a seating capacity of around 2,000 people, including:
- 1,730 chairs
- 96 sofa seats for VIPs
The facility will feature:
- A 12×29 meter large stage
- Advanced sound systems and LED screens
- Acoustic panels for sound insulation
- A dedicated light and sound control room
- A media booth
- Exclusive VIP lounge and dining area
This modern auditorium is expected to host official events, meetings, and large gatherings efficiently.

Construction Timeline and Executing Agency
The project is being executed by MP Building Development Corporation (MPBDC), which has already signed a construction contract with a private firm on March 13.
- Project duration: 18 months
- Expected completion: By the end of 2027
Officials confirmed that the structure will be built using durable, modern construction techniques, ensuring a fully high-tech environment.
Two-Storey Dining Hall with 2,400 Capacity
Adjacent to the auditorium, a large two-storey dining hall will be constructed over 2,579 square meters.
Key features include:
- Seating for approximately 2,400 people
- Combined dining space across ground and first floors
- Dedicated VIP dining arrangements
This facility is designed to accommodate large-scale official banquets and state events.
‘Samatva Bhavan’ Guest House with Premium Facilities
A new guest house, named “Chintan” within Samatva Bhavan, will also be developed to host dignitaries.
The guest house will include:
- Two luxury bedrooms
- A dining room
- A dressing room
- A common VIP lounge
Additionally, the complex will have:
- A guard room for security
- A PA (personal assistant) room
Sustainable and Smart Infrastructure Features
The project also emphasizes sustainability and operational efficiency through several modern features:
- Heavy-duty DG set for uninterrupted power backup
- Rainwater harvesting system for water conservation
- Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for wastewater management
- 4.5-meter-wide concrete internal roads for smooth movement
- Comprehensive landscaping within the campus
A Step Towards Modern Governance Infrastructure
This ambitious development reflects the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on upgrading administrative infrastructure with modern amenities and sustainability measures. Once completed, the Shyamla Hills CM residence complex will serve as a hub for high-level meetings, cultural programs, and official events, combining functionality with advanced technology.
