Khurai: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav received a historic and unprecedented welcome from the people during his visit to Khurai Assembly constituency in Sagar district on Saturday. Addressing the massive gathering, the Chief Minister expressed his emotion at the warm reception, saying, “The people of Khurai have celebrated Holi and Diwali together with flowers today. I am amazed by this welcome; I feel like staying here forever.”
During this landmark visit, Dr Yadav unveiled development projects worth over ₹1,000 crore aimed at transforming Khurai into a model constituency with modern infrastructure, improved education, energy solutions, and road connectivity.
Major Infrastructure and Road Projects
The Chief Minister announced the approval of a 4-lane road project costing ₹500 crore to strengthen the Raigarh–Khurai–Khimalasa route. Additionally, ₹429 crore has been sanctioned to complete the pending works of the Bina River project, ensuring timely execution and long-term benefits for the region.
Education, Sports, and Energy Initiatives
In the education sector, Dr Yadav announced ₹25 crore for the construction of a new ITI, an agricultural college building, and hostels in Khurai. A natural athletics track was also inaugurated to encourage sports among local youth.
In the energy sector, a 132 KVA electrical substation will be established in the village of Rajwans to enhance power supply and meet growing local demand.
Inaugurations and Groundbreaking of 86 Development Works
The Chief Minister performed inaugurations and ground-breaking ceremonies for 86 projects worth ₹312 crore, which include the SDM office, Tehsil building, Sandeepani School, and other vital civic infrastructure developments. Over 150 welcoming stages were decorated, where young girls showcased yoga and Mallakhamb performances, captivating the Chief Minister and the public alike.
Commitment to Bundelkhand’s Development
Dr Yadav highlighted the significance of Bundelkhand as the land of valor and Maharaja Chhatrasal. Criticising opposition parties for neglecting the region in the past, he reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to its comprehensive development. He referred to landmark initiatives like the Ken-Betwa project and the Ladli Behna scheme, and shared plans to increase milk production from 9% to 20% across the state.
Local Leaders and Citizens Participate
The event was attended by local MLA Bhupendra Singh, Minister Govind Singh Rajput, MP Lata Wankhede, and senior leaders including Pandit Gopal Bhargav. MLA Bhupendra Singh expressed gratitude for the CM’s visit, calling the reception a historic moment, and submitted memorandums addressing constituency demands, which the Chief Minister accepted warmly.
