Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: In a landmark event at the Shabri Mata Mandir, Ghati Gaon, Gwalior, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav oversaw the direct transfer of ₹1,836 crore into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore Laadli Bahna beneficiaries. The program also featured the groundbreaking and inauguration of 54 major development projects worth ₹121.95 crore, further boosting infrastructure and public welfare in the region.
Direct Cash Transfer Strengthens Women’s Empowerment
Since its inception in June 2023, the Laadli Bahna scheme has focused on women’s economic empowerment and social dignity. Under this program, eligible women now receive ₹1,500 monthly, following a ₹250 increase introduced in November 2025. Over 33 installments have been disbursed from June 2023 to February 2026, amounting to more than ₹54,140 crore directly credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that these monthly transfers not only support families financially but also foster confidence and independence among women.

Development Projects Laid and Inaugurated
During the Laadli Bahna Sammelan in Gwalior, the Chief Minister laid the foundation and inaugurated 54 key projects costing approximately ₹122 crore.
- Inaugurated Projects (₹62 crore, 19 projects):
- New building of Sandipani Government Higher Secondary School, Kulaith (₹40 crore)
- High-level bridge over Sank River on Dada Khirk-Tighra Road (₹9.11 crore)
- Upgraded roads in Gwalior urban and rural areas
- New Sub Health Center in Banheri
- New building of Sandipani Government Higher Secondary School, Kulaith (₹40 crore)
- Groundbreaking Projects (₹60 crore, 35 projects):
- 100-seater laborers’ resting facility near ISBT (₹6.17 crore)
- Ambedkar Dham Phase-II Museum based on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life (₹12.16 crore)
- Road development across urban and rural areas
- Anatomy Hall at Ayurveda College and new student hostels
- Modern shopping complex in Bhitarwar (₹4 crore)
- 100-seater laborers’ resting facility near ISBT (₹6.17 crore)
These projects aim to improve education, health, transport, and civic infrastructure, benefitting residents and boosting regional development.
CM Highlights Women’s Economic Independence
Dr. Mohan Yadav reiterated that the Laadli Bahna program is a key initiative of the state government to prioritize women’s welfare. The monthly financial assistance is helping sisters manage household needs, invest in personal growth, and achieve self-reliance with dignity and confidence.
“The funds provided through the Laadli Bahna scheme are not merely financial support but a step towards enhancing women’s social and economic empowerment,” Dr. Yadav stated.

The projects inaugurated and laid by the Chief Minister reflect Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to comprehensive development, covering education, health, roads, urban infrastructure, and social amenities.
