Khandwa: Ahead of Mahashivratri, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released the 33rd installment of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, transferring ₹1,500 each to over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state. A total of ₹1,836 crore was credited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through a single-click transfer during a public event in Pandhana, Khandwa district.
With this latest disbursement, the cumulative financial assistance under the scheme has crossed ₹52,304 crore, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to women empowerment and financial inclusion.
Government Committed to Women Empowerment
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav stated that women are the “Lakshmi and Annapurna” of Madhya Pradesh and assured that there is no shortage of funds for their welfare. He emphasized that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the state government remains fully committed to strengthening women socially and economically.
The ceremony began with traditional rituals including Kanya Pujan, lamp lighting, and floral welcome for beneficiaries.

62 Lakh Women Become Self-Reliant Through SHGs
The Chief Minister highlighted that nearly 5 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are actively functioning in the state, benefiting around 62 lakh women, who have become financially independent through skill development and entrepreneurship support.
Key initiatives supporting women include:
- Lakhpati Didi Campaign through SHGs
- Emerging recognition as “Drone Didi” in agriculture-related activities
- ₹5,000 monthly incentive for women workers in the ready-made garment sector
- 35% reservation for women in government services
- Support through Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
- Assistance under the state’s Kanya Vivah Yojana
These measures aim to enhance financial security, dignity, and self-reliance among women across urban and rural areas.
2026 Declared as ‘Farmer Welfare Year’
CM Yadav also announced that 2026 will be observed as “Krishak Kalyan Varsh” (Farmer Welfare Year) in Madhya Pradesh.
Major agricultural announcements include:
- Boosting milk production from 9% to 20% growth
- Promotion of animal husbandry and dairy sectors
- Wheat procurement at ₹2,700 per quintal under MSP
- Continued benefits under the Bhavantar Scheme
He noted that increasing women’s participation in agriculture will further strengthen the rural economy.
₹608 Crore Development Projects Inaugurated in Khandwa
During the event, CM Yadav inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 13 development projects worth over ₹608 crore in Khandwa district.
Major projects include:
- ₹301 crore Bham Irrigation Project
- Ayushman Arogya Mandir and laboratory facilities
- New Government Sandipani School in Pandhana
The irrigation projects are expected to significantly benefit farmers and enhance agricultural productivity in the region.
Push for Religious Tourism and Connectivity
The Chief Minister stated that the Nimad region is being developed as a major spiritual and tourism hub. Key religious destinations being strengthened include:
- Omkareshwar
- Mamleshwar Temple
- Sant Singaji Dham
He also announced the launch of a new railway line connecting Khandwa to Omkareshwar and further to Indore, expected to boost connectivity and regional economic growth.

The Ladli Behna installment release, combined with major development announcements, reflects the Madhya Pradesh government’s integrated approach toward women empowerment, farmer welfare, infrastructure development, and spiritual tourism growth.
