Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the state-level training program for the first phase of Census-2027 at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium in Bhopal. He described the digital census as a historic initiative under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and emphasized its significance in driving data-based development across the state.
A short film highlighting the census process was also screened during the program to familiarize participants with the digital methodology.
Digital Census 2027: A Leap Towards Data-Driven Development
The Chief Minister stressed that the census is the largest and most crucial data-gathering exercise in the country. He noted that government schemes, resource allocation, and development strategies reaching every citizen rely on accurate census data.
Highlighting India’s status as the most populous country in the world, CM Yadav called the digital census not just nationally significant but also of global importance. He underlined the need to accurately record real conditions in villages, towns, and rural settlements, ensuring that planning is based on authentic and reliable data.

Census Data Determines Development Priorities
CM Yadav explained that roads, hospitals, schools, and other development projects in Madhya Pradesh are planned based on census data. He emphasized that the census is more than counting numbers; it is a test of administrative transparency, responsibility, and sensitivity.
Administrative Directives: Budget Session and Festival Preparations
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state budget session will run from 16 February to 6 March 2026. Considering upcoming festivals such as Mahashivratri and Holi, CM Yadav instructed authorities to coordinate with peace committees and ensure public order and safety across the state.
Krishak Kalyan Year 2026: Focus on Farmers’ Welfare
Under the Krishak Kalyan (Farmer Welfare) Year 2026, CM Yadav stressed the effective implementation of farmer-related schemes, particularly the Bhavantar Yojana. He directed officials to:
- Promote cultivation of urad and groundnut during summer crops
- Increase maize production to enhance farmers’ income
- Prevent stubble burning and reduce environmental impact
- Boost pulses and oilseed production
- Achieve revenue targets in the mineral, registration, and excise departments
He congratulated officials for previous successful implementations and urged them to maintain momentum throughout 2026.
