Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually participated in the Narmada Jayanti and Narmada Lok Bhoomi Pujan program in Narmadapuram district and announced three major development projects worth over ₹38 crore. The projects aim to boost tourism, local economy, and infrastructure in the district.
Narmada Lok Project to Enhance Pilgrimage and Tourism
As part of the Narmada Lok initiative, Dr. Yadav performed the foundation stone laying of the project valued at ₹21 crore. The development work includes:
- Renovation of steps at Sethani Ghat, Tourism Ghat, and Kori Ghat
- Construction of attractive entry gates and watchtowers
- Creation of organized parking facilities and kiosks for devotees to change clothes
The Chief Minister said the Narmada Lok project will increase the number of visitors, create employment opportunities, and accelerate the local economy.
Inauguration of Grand Narmada Statue and Trishul
Dr. Yadav also inaugurated a 40-feet high Trishul and an 8-feet tall statue of Maa Narmada, built at a cost of ₹1.25 crore, adding spiritual and cultural significance to the Narmadapuram region.
Urban Infrastructure Projects Under CM Shurban Adhosanrachna Scheme
The Chief Minister laid the foundation for urban rainwater drainage works in Narmadapuram under the CM Urban Infrastructure Scheme, valued at ₹15 crore. These projects will improve city drainage systems and reduce waterlogging during the monsoon season.
Significance of Narmada and Cultural Heritage
Dr. Yadav highlighted that Maa Narmada is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh, contributing to the state’s economic, cultural, and spiritual prosperity. He also emphasized the role of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar in preserving ghats and pilgrimage sites, inspiring ongoing religious and cultural initiatives.
The Chief Minister extended his greetings to all devotees on Narmada Jayanti, urging collective efforts to promote spiritual tourism and heritage preservation in the state.
