Bhopal: A rare and emotionally charged blend of India’s age-old guru–shishya tradition, respect for teachers, and the vision for the future of education was witnessed at the State-Level Educational Quality Teachers’ Conference held in Bhopal. The event became memorable not only for its symbolic gestures of reverence but also for a major policy announcement that could reshape the state’s educational landscape.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, along with School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, honored their respective teachers on a public platform, reinforcing the idea that teachers remain the cornerstone of society and nation-building.
Chief Minister Touches His Teacher’s Feet, Seeks Blessings
The conference was organized by the Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Association on Wednesday at Subhash Excellence School, Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal. A deeply emotional moment unfolded when Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav honored his teacher Kokila Pal.
As his guru stepped onto the stage, the Chief Minister himself moved forward, touched her feet, and sought her blessings. This gesture drew prolonged applause and left a lasting impression on everyone present in the auditorium, symbolizing humility, gratitude, and respect for educators.

Five Gurus Honored, Including Education Minister’s First Teacher
The program also honored Badrinath Prasad Tiwari, the first guru of School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh. Along with the teachers of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister, three other senior teachers were felicitated.
During the ceremony, speakers highlighted the decades-long contributions of these teachers to the field of education. Gratitude was expressed for their lifelong dedication, emphasizing that teachers form the moral and intellectual backbone of society.
Retired Teachers Felicitated for Lifelong Service
At the state-level conference, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also felicitated retired teachers who had dedicated their lives to education and to strengthening educational organizations. From the stage, speakers reiterated that teachers are not only knowledge-givers but also architects of the nation’s future.
Thousands of Teachers Participate from Across the State
The conference was held under the guidance of Provincial Organizing Secretary Himmat Singh Jain and witnessed massive participation. Around 3,000 to 4,000 teacher officers from different districts of Madhya Pradesh attended the event.
The program began with colorful cultural performances presented by students, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. Following this, the Chief Minister visited and closely observed the exhibition organized by the Teachers’ Association, appreciating its efforts and contributions.
Exhibition Highlights 55 Years of Teachers’ Association Journey
General Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Teachers’ Association, Rakesh Gupta, said that an exhibition showcasing the 55-year journey of the association was a key attraction of the event.
He stated that for over five decades, the association has consistently worked for the welfare of the nation, education system, students, and teachers. The organization is government-recognized, and the exhibition presented its long struggle, achievements, and significant contributions to educational development in the state.
Big Announcement: Sandipani Schools Every 5 Kilometers
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made a major announcement regarding the future of education in Madhya Pradesh. He said that Sandipani schools will be developed within every 5-kilometer radius across the state to strengthen educational infrastructure.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the schools, digital facilities, and systems being developed under the New Education Policy in Madhya Pradesh are setting an example. According to him, the educational model taking shape in the state is one that is not seen anywhere else in the country.
He added that Sandipani schools are emerging as a benchmark educational model and will play a key role in providing quality education at the grassroots level.
