Bhopal: On Saturday, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, inaugurated a symposium titled ‘Swadeshi Se Swavalamban’ (From Swadeshi to Self-Reliance) at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium in Bhopal. During the event, he administered an oath to the participants, urging them to use Swadeshi (indigenous) products and commit to the cause of national self-reliance.
The oath emphasized the importance of supporting locally made products to contribute towards a prosperous and developed nation. CM Yadav stated, “I pledge to use Swadeshi products with a sense of responsibility, to make my country prosperous and self-reliant.”
Focus on National Self-Reliance
The symposium was aimed at spreading awareness about the Swadeshi movement and its significance in promoting economic self-reliance. CM Yadav highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in pushing the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) mission. He emphasized that the Madhya Pradesh government is also working in the same direction by continually supporting small, micro, and medium-sized industries.
“We are committed to ensuring that all industries are treated equally, while focusing on the prosperity of the state and providing employment to our youth,” CM Yadav said during his address.
Partnership for Swadeshi Awareness
In a significant move, an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad and the Swadeshi Jagran Manch. This MoU aims to launch a joint campaign to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of Swadeshi products and to strengthen the nation’s self-reliance.

Economic and Cultural Significance
The Chief Minister stressed the historical and cultural importance of self-reliance, citing the role of India’s villages as symbols of self-sufficiency throughout history. He also linked this concept to the country’s rich legacy of talent and innovation. He urged citizens to contribute towards national development by embracing Swadeshi.
Government Support for Local Industries
As part of the state government’s efforts to promote indigenous industries, CM Yadav announced that employment-oriented industries would be provided with subsidies by the state government. This, he said, would not only bolster the local economy but also create more job opportunities for the youth.

A Call for Collective Action
The CM concluded his speech by urging everyone to adopt Swadeshi practices in their daily lives, asserting that this would play a key role in advancing the nation’s development.
This symposium marked a significant step in strengthening the movement for economic independence and cultural revival through the promotion of Swadeshi products in Madhya Pradesh. The collaboration between government bodies and organizations like the Swadeshi Jagran Manch signals a united front to boost self-reliance and economic growth at both state and national levels.
