Indore: Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to the future of youth, stating that India’s dream of becoming a developed nation by 2047 hinges on the education and empowerment of its children. Speaking at a public event held at the Basketball Complex, Indore, Dr. Yadav highlighted the state’s ongoing educational reforms and student welfare initiatives.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering on the 21st foundation year of the “Punyodaya Project”, a notable social initiative led by Hindu Rakshak Sangathan, which distributes educational materials to underprivileged students. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the distribution of free notebooks to students.
Govt Committed to a Brighter Future: Key Announcements
- Sandipani Schools: Operational in all districts to provide quality education
- Free bicycles: Distributed to nearly 5 lakh students of Class 6 and 9
- School uniforms: To be prepared and distributed free of cost
Books and notebooks: Already distributed before the session start; copies now distributed through Punyodaya Project
“Students should just focus on studying. The government will take care of their future,” said Dr. Yadav, assuring that education remains the top priority of the administration.
Electric Scooties for Toppers, NEET Support
In a landmark incentive, the Chief Minister announced that:
- Students who top in school will be rewarded with electric scooties
- NEET qualifiers from the state will receive financial aid for medical education
- Number of medical colleges in the state to rise to 50 in the next two years
- Industrial expansion efforts underway to support youth employment and self-reliance
Tribute to Late Minister Laxman Singh Gaur
Dr. Yadav paid heartfelt tribute to Late Mr. Laxman Singh Gaur, a former minister known for his contributions to social welfare in Indore. He credited Gaur with:
- Initiating the free notebook distribution campaign
- Making Rangpanchami in Indore a grand cultural event
“His legacy continues to inspire community-driven initiatives like the Punyodaya Project,” said CM Yadav.
About Punyodaya Project
Hindu Rakshak Sangathan convenor Eklavya Laxman Singh Gaur provided insights into the Punyodaya Prakalp, stating:
- Since 2003, over 3.5 lakh copies are distributed every year
- Involves support from 300+ families from Indore city
- Distribution runs annually from July 11 to August 11
- Notebooks provided at ₹1 per copy, symbolic of public service
He expressed gratitude to the volunteers, social workers, and participating families for their unwavering commitment to the cause.
