Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Saturday met three women cricketers from Madhya Pradesh who were part of the Indian team that won the Blind Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2025. The interaction took place at Samatva Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s residence, where the players and their coaches were felicitated for bringing national and international recognition to the state.
The players honoured were Ms. Sunita Sarathe, Ms. Sushma Patel, and Ms. Durga Yewale, all of whom played key roles in India’s historic World Cup victory.
₹25 Lakh Incentive Announced for Each Player
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced an incentive of ₹25 lakh each for the three players in recognition of their outstanding achievement. He stated that:
- ₹10 lakh will be given to each player as cash assistance
- ₹15 lakh will be provided in the form of a fixed deposit
The Chief Minister said the incentive is meant to encourage athletes with disabilities and promote inclusive sports culture in the state.
Coaches to Receive ₹1 Lakh Each
Acknowledging the role of mentors behind the success, Dr. Yadav also announced a ₹1 lakh incentive each for the three coaches who trained the players:
- Mr. Sonu Golkar
- Mr. Omprakash Pal
- Mr. Deepak Pahade
The Chief Minister honoured the players and coaches by presenting them with shawls and trophies during the ceremony.
State Support for Education and Future Training
Dr. Yadav assured that the Madhya Pradesh government will make arrangements for the future education and advanced coaching of the three players. He said the state is committed to creating opportunities for sportspersons who bring glory to Madhya Pradesh and serve as role models for society.
“These players have shown that determination and discipline can overcome any challenge. The government will fully support their growth,” he said.
Historic Win in Blind Women’s T20 World Cup 2025
The Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team scripted history by defeating Nepal in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket 2025. The victory marked a significant milestone for blind cricket in India.
The three Madhya Pradesh players were part of the championship-winning squad:
- Sunita Sarathe – All-rounder, from Narmadapuram
- Sushma Patel – From Damoh
- Durga Yewale – Batsman and wicketkeeper, from Betul
Their performance played a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaign.

Officials said the recognition of blind women cricketers reflects the state government’s focus on inclusive sports development, encouraging athletes from all backgrounds and abilities to pursue excellence at national and international levels.
