New Delhi: In a landmark initiative to enhance urban infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company Limited (MPUDCL). The partnership pledges financial and technical support worth Rs 1,00,000 crore over the next five years for diverse housing and infrastructure projects across the state.
MoU Signed in Presence of Top State and HUDCO Officials
The MoU was formalized in Indore on Friday, with the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, alongside Sanjay Kulshrestha, Chairman & Managing Director of HUDCO. This collaboration marks a strategic alignment between central and state agencies aimed at elevating urban living standards in Madhya Pradesh.
Massive Financial Assistance for Urban Growth
As per the agreement, HUDCO will extend Rs 1 lakh crore in financial assistance to fund projects focused on affordable housing, water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, and smart urban mobility. These funds will be disbursed over five years, ensuring sustained development across multiple urban sectors.
Beyond Funding: Consultancy and Capacity Building Support
Apart from monetary aid, HUDCO commits to providing consultancy services and capacity-building assistance to MPUDCL. This holistic approach is intended to ensure effective planning, execution, and management of urban development initiatives, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive urbanization.
