Datia: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹529 crore in Datia district, highlighting the region as a role model for development, innovation, women empowerment, and farmer prosperity. The events included inaugurations in Sevda, Basai, and other key areas, covering bridges, schools, and water infrastructure projects.
Major Infrastructure and Development Initiatives
The CM inaugurated 50 projects worth ₹299.32 crore and laid the foundation for 21 projects worth ₹230.44 crore, including:
- Sindh River High-Level Bridge – ₹47.96 crore, benefiting 200 villages
- Water Supply Schemes – ₹53.20 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission for 122 villages
- Sandeepani School in Basai – ₹40 crore, offering modern facilities for over 1,500 students
- Motor Driving Training & Research Institute in Bardoni – ₹31 crore
Additionally, CM announced ₹475 crore for new roads, a new bus stand in Indergarh, an 8.5 km bypass, and an indoor stadium in Sevda to improve regional connectivity.

Water Security and Irrigation Projects
Datia has overcome its past drinking water crisis, with tap water now reaching every household. The Ratanagarh Irrigation Project, approved at ₹2,000 crore, will provide irrigation benefits to nearly 40,000 farmers.
Under the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, farmers in Datia will benefit from irrigation across 1.48 lakh hectares, complemented by seven mini irrigation projects in the last two years.
Support for Farmers and Livelihood Initiatives
Chief Minister Yadav highlighted initiatives to boost agriculture, dairy, and animal husbandry, including:
- Solar Pumps to empower farmers with sustainable energy
- Increased government incentives for cattle under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme
- Expansion of irrigated land from 44 lakh hectares to over 55 lakh hectares
- Ongoing benefits from Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi for 1.37 lakh farmers and crop insurance for 1.26 lakh farmers

Education, Social Welfare and Milk Distribution
From the next academic session, all government schools will provide free milk to students. Social welfare programs include:
- Laadli Behan Yojana – ₹1,500 per month to girls
- Rahveer Yojana – Free treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for road accident victims and ₹25,000 reward to helpers
- Housing support for all eligible beneficiaries
- Announcement of government bus service starting this year
Promotion of Drug-Free and Cultural Initiatives
Datia’s drug-free campaign has received national recognition. Measures include:
- Prohibition of alcohol sales at 19 religious sites
- Development of Ram and Krishna pilgrimage sites
- Promotion of mass marriage programs to reduce extravagance
Tourism and Connectivity Boost
Datia now boasts its own airport with Datia-Bhopal flight service, and the upcoming Vande Bharat train from Khajuraho to Delhi brings the national capital just hours away. The ongoing construction of Maa Pitambara Lok aims to enhance Datia’s religious and tourism identity.
