Bhopal/Varanasi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the MP Tourism Influencer Meet 2026 in Varanasi on Friday, marking a significant initiative to promote tourism through digital platforms. During the event, the Chief Minister also interacted with social media influencers and discussed the growing role of digital platforms in shaping public perception and youth engagement.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav said that social media has become one of the most powerful tools for youth in the modern era, enabling them to contribute actively to cultural promotion and nation-building.
Focus on Culture, Heritage, and Modern Development
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of balancing modern development with India’s rich cultural heritage. Referring to initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) has incorporated the philosophical foundation of Sanatan traditions, offering youth both values and opportunities for growth.
He emphasized that India’s development journey should go hand in hand with pride in its ancient traditions and historical achievements.

CM Yadav also spoke about showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s heritage in Varanasi through cultural programs such as the Samrat Vikramaditya theatrical presentation, which reflects the legacy of the legendary king Vikramaditya.
He noted that Vikramaditya’s ideals of justice, bravery, and righteousness continue to inspire generations and highlight India’s glorious past.

Highlighting recent infrastructure developments, the Chief Minister pointed out that projects like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi and the Mahakal Lok in Ujjain have significantly boosted religious tourism in India.
He credited the central leadership for creating new benchmarks by combining cultural revival with modern infrastructure development, making India a major destination for spiritual tourism.

During the event, CM Yadav engaged directly with influencers, answering their questions and encouraging them to actively promote Madhya Pradesh’s tourism potential across digital platforms.
He described Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as “two brothers”, emphasizing that both states can collaborate to set new benchmarks in development, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister shared insights into preparations for the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028 in Ujjain. He stated that the event is expected to be grand and record-breaking, with a massive influx of devotees, tourists, and visitors from across India and abroad.
The government is already working on ensuring world-class infrastructure, crowd management, and essential facilities to accommodate the anticipated surge in visitors.
