This generous financial aid, extended through NALCO’s CSR arm – Nalco Foundation, will be utilized for the procurement of advanced medical instruments, equipment, and other essential resources aimed at improving patient care across various hospital departments. The Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital is a key institution providing healthcare services to the people of Koraput district, especially marginalized tribal communities who often face geographical and resource-based barriers to medical care.
NALCO’s contribution will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide better healthcare services to these vulnerable groups, improving accessibility and quality of care.
In addition to this initiative, NALCO continues to prioritize healthcare in the region through various ongoing CSR programs. Notably, the company operates mobile healthcare units in the Damanjodi sector, where its Mining and Refinery complex is located, offering basic healthcare services to 163 peripheral villages and adjacent hamlets. Similarly, in the Pottangi sector, NALCO’s mobile healthcare units cater to 48 peripheral villages, ensuring healthcare reaches the most underserved areas.
