New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has re-appointed Shri Namgyal Wangchuk as a Part-time Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board, effective April 15, 2025. The appointment follows an official order issued by the Ministry of Railways on the same date and subsequent approval by the IRCTC Board.
A seasoned legal professional, Wangchuk brings over 25 years of diverse legal experience, covering civil, criminal, matrimonial, tribunal, and corporate law. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Kashmir and completed his LL.B from the University of Delhi in 1997. He was enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council and practiced at the Delhi High Court from 1998 to 2000.
Wangchuk also served as a Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate First Class from 2001 to 2003. Currently, he is empanelled as a legal advisor to several nationalised banks, including State Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Axis Bank, and Union Bank of India.
IRCTC confirmed that Wangchuk holds no shares in the company, is not related to any of the company’s Directors or Key Managerial Personnel, and has affirmed that he is not debarred by any regulatory authority from holding the office of Director.
With this re-appointment, the IRCTC Board now comprises nine directors, including Chairman & Managing Director Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain, along with functional, government nominee, and independent directors.
