New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna PSU and a key player in government civil construction, has secured a major work order worth ₹130.58 crore from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). The announcement was made via a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges.
According to the filing, NBCC will develop a township project on a 21.66-acre land parcel owned by NEEPCO in Umsavali, Shillong, Meghalaya. The development aligns with the government’s push to bolster infrastructure in the northeastern region.
This order adds to a growing list of recent wins for the PSU. On April 23, NBCC had announced new infrastructure contracts totaling ₹64.67 crore. These include:
- ₹29.65 crore for the construction of a hostel block at Seva Bharati’s Vidya Mandir in Mandoli, Delhi
- ₹18.05 crore for infrastructure development at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
- ₹16.97 crore for development works at Dhamnagar College in Bhadrak, Odisha
Earlier in April, the company secured additional orders amounting to ₹120.9 crore. These involve the construction of a multi-storey court building in Gudiwada, Andhra Pradesh (₹46.69 crore), 14 court complexes in Bhimavaram (₹72.17 crore), and renovation of the TEC Building in New Delhi (₹2.04 crore). NBCC also recently signed an MoU with RailTel to collaborate on building data center infrastructure.
Strong Market Performance
NBCC’s stock has shown impressive performance on the BSE. The stock has surged over 19% in the past month alone, and delivered a return of 272% over the past two years. Over a five-year period, the stock has skyrocketed by 640%. It is currently trading near its 52-week high of ₹139.90, well above the 52-week low of ₹70.82. The company’s current market capitalization stands at ₹26,314.20 crore.
With a steady pipeline of government-backed infrastructure projects and a robust financial trajectory, NBCC continues to strengthen its position as a key player in India’s public construction sector.
