New Delhi, India – NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna CPSE and a prominent public sector enterprise, announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a significant work order valued at approximately Rs 50.54 crore. This substantial contract is for a temple development project situated in the scenic state of Himachal Pradesh.

Major Boost for Religious Tourism Infrastructure

The prestigious contract, granted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is specifically for the comprehensive development of the revered “Maa Chintpurni Temple” located in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh. This project is being undertaken as part of the Central Government’s ‘Prashad Scheme,’ which focuses on strengthening spiritual tourism infrastructure across the nation.

NBCC to Act as Project Management Consultant

In its regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Tuesday, NBCC clarified its role in the ambitious project. The company will serve as the Project Management Consultant (PMC), overseeing the entire development process. The core objective of this initiative is to significantly enhance the existing infrastructure and improve the array of amenities available at the sacred temple site, thereby enriching the pilgrimage experience for devotees.

Alignment with Core Business Operations

NBCC emphasized that securing this work order is well within its normal course of business operations. The company stated that the project perfectly aligns with its continuous endeavors in project consultancy and execution, spanning diverse sectors. This latest win further solidifies NBCC’s position as a key player in large-scale infrastructure development projects across India. The successful execution of this project is expected to not only benefit pilgrims but also contribute to the local economy of Una district.
