Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Singrauli-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment Department, Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, for the operation and management of the District Disabled Rehabilitation Center (DDRC) in Singrauli under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
As part of the agreement, NCL will provide financial support of Rs. 2.97 crore for running the DDRC and supplying essential assistive and rehabilitative equipment—including prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, tricycles, wheelchairs, walkers, smart canes, and Braille kits—to disabled individuals in Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts. The MoU was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Singrauli District Collector Mr. Chandrashekhar Shukla and CEO of District Panchayat Mr. Gajendra Singh Nagesh.
The agreement was formally executed by NCL’s General Manager (CSR) Mr. Rajiv Ranjan and Deputy Director of the Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment Department, Mr. Anurag Modi. The collaboration aims to create a more inclusive environment by empowering people with disabilities through access to rehabilitation services and mobility aids.
