ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited for its 250 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in Rajasthan, marking a significant stride in the company’s foray into hybrid clean energy solutions. The project will integrate solar, wind, and battery storage to deliver firm power and support India’s clean energy transition.
The agreement, finalised at a tariff of Rs. 4.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), mandates a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 40 percent and requires the delivery of 90 percent of peak power needs over a four-hour daily window. The project will be connected to an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) substation, with connectivity already secured.
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) approved the tariff under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003 on June 19, 2025, through Petition No. 87/AT/2025 filed by NHPC. ACME Solar emphasised that the project would not only enhance its capabilities in the FDRE segment but also contribute significantly to the country’s renewable energy targets.
“This PPA marks a significant step in strengthening ACME Solar’s footprint in the FDRE space while supporting India’s clean energy ambitions through an innovative mix of solar, wind, and battery storage technology,” the company stated.
With this agreement, ACME Solar’s total portfolio of PPA-signed projects has reached 5,130 MW, of which 2,826.2 MW is operational, and the remaining capacity is in various stages of development. Additionally, the company has a project pipeline of 1,840 MW backed by Letters of Award (LoA). Notably, 86 percent of ACME’s offtake agreements are with central government enterprises, and the remaining 14 percent are with state distribution companies.
