New Delhi: Public sector hydropower major NHPC Ltd has awarded a turnkey contract worth ₹199.84 crore to Om Infra Ltd for executing Hydro-Mechanical works at the 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The contract marks a significant step forward in the development of India’s largest hydropower project, aligning with NHPC’s ongoing infrastructure expansion in the renewable energy sector.
Two-Part Contract Under Lot-5B Package of Dibang Project
NHPC has entrusted Om Infra with the full scope of engineering, supply, and commissioning under the Lot-5B package, which includes intake and draft tube gates and hoists. The contract has been structured in two components:
Supply Contract – ₹167.86 Crore
This covers the Ex-Works and CIF/CIP supply of equipment, materials, mandatory spares, and tools & tackles for hydro-mechanical works.
Service Contract – ₹31.98 Crore
It includes inland transportation, handling, storage, installation, testing, commissioning, and performance testing at the site.
The total value of both contracts stands at ₹199.84 crore, with a completion period of 46 months from the start date.

About Dibang Multipurpose Project
The Dibang project is not only India’s largest in terms of capacity but also a critical part of NHPC’s mission to boost clean energy production. With a planned output of 2880 MW, the project is located in Arunachal Pradesh and will contribute significantly to the regional and national power grid.
