New Delhi: A participant of the State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation, organized under the aegis of NHPC, has brought laurels to the Union Territory of Ladakh by securing the Second Prize at the National Energy Conservation Day (NECD) Awards 2025.
Master Stanzin Chosyangs, a Class X student of Druk Padma Karpo School, Shey, Leh, was awarded for his outstanding painting under Category “B” at the National Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2025.
President of India Presents the Award at Vigyan Bhavan
The prestigious award was presented by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, during the National Energy Conservation Day Awards Ceremony held on December 14, 2025, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
Master Stanzin received –
- Cash Prize of ₹50,000
- Silver Medal
- Laptop
The ceremony was attended by several senior dignitaries, including –
- Manohar Lal, Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs
- Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy
- Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), Government of India
- Dhiraj Kumar Srivastava, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)

Recognition of Creativity and Energy Awareness
The award recognizes Master Stanzin’s creativity, artistic talent, and strong awareness of energy conservation, effectively conveyed through his artwork at the national level. His painting stood out among thousands of entries from across the country.

Congratulating the winner, Shri Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC, said that the organization takes immense pride in supporting young talent that promotes the message of energy conservation.
He added that NHPC will continue to actively support the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation, conducted under the guidance of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India.

Under the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation, NHPC was entrusted with organizing School-Level and State-Level Painting Competitions for the year 2025 in the following states and Union Territories –

- Madhya Pradesh
NHPC successfully conducted these competitions, encouraging students to creatively express the importance of energy conservation and sustainability.
