The central deputation tenure of Nirupama Kotru has been extended for two years. Ms. Kotru who is an IRS-IT officer of the 1992 batch, is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Coal.
Ms. Kotru is passionate about poetry, literature, theatre, music, and films. Apart from serving on various capacities in Income Tax, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and the Ministry of Culture of GoI, she is also a key player in getting Durga Puja recognised as UNESCO heritage.
