Vaishali, Hajipur: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a major announcement addressing youth employment during a public meeting at Prem Raj Middle School in the Goraul block of Vaishali Assembly constituency. Progress Since 2005

He recalled that earlier, people rarely ventured out after sunset due to lawlessness and communal tensions. Infrastructure like roads and electricity was severely lacking. Kumar criticized previous governments for neglecting development and social welfare, especially for women.
He emphasized the achievements in education and healthcare under his leadership, including the recruitment of 2.58 lakh teachers by the Bihar Public Service Commission. The Chief Minister also mentioned that healthcare centers now witness thousands of patients monthly, compared to very few earlier. The state has doubled its medical colleges from six to twelve.

The government has increased pension amounts from ₹400 to ₹1100 and mandated 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions and 35% reservation in the police force since 2013.
Empowering Women and Social Inclusion
Under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, approximately 1.21 crore women have received ₹10,000 in their accounts, with plans to provide additional assistance up to ₹2 lakh. The ‘Jeevika’ program has connected around 1.4 crore women ‘Jeevika Didis’ across the state, fostering women’s empowerment and self-reliance.
Nitish Kumar assured that his government has worked across all communities, including Hindus, Muslims, backward classes, and general categories, to ensure inclusive development.
Development Projects and Political Appeal
