Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various public welfare and infrastructure projects worth ₹4,233 crore via remote control at a grand function held at Sankalp Hall, One Anne Marg, Patna. The projects span across Panchayati Raj, Building Construction, and Agriculture Departments.
In a major relief measure, the Chief Minister also announced the transfer of ₹113 crore to the bank accounts of over 2.41 lakh farmers affected by floods and heavy rains in August 2025 under the Agriculture Input Grant Scheme.
1,000 Marriage Halls Under CM Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana
A key highlight of the event was the foundation laying of 1,000 modern marriage halls across various Gram Panchayats, under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana. With a budget of ₹500 crore, these halls aim to provide affordable and accessible wedding venues to poor families, reducing the financial burden of marriage ceremonies.
These multipurpose halls can also be used during natural disasters or flood emergencies, enhancing their utility for local communities.

663 Panchayat Bhawans and Multiple Departmental Buildings Launched
Under the Panchayati Raj Department, 663 Panchayat Government Buildings are to be constructed at a cost of ₹1,823 crore. Additionally:
- 367 buildings constructed by the Local Area Engineering Organization (LAEO) at ₹825 crore were inaugurated.
- 140 Panchayat Government Buildings built by Gram Panchayats at a cost of ₹160 crore were also launched.
These buildings will serve as Panchayat Secretariats, housing offices of local government officials. Many will include:
- Lok Seva Adhikar Kendras (Public Service Centers)
- Post offices
- Bank branches
- Sudha milk parlours, and more.
New Agricultural Infrastructure Inaugurated
From the Agriculture Department, the CM inaugurated:
- The Daudnagar Agriculture Campus in Aurangabad, built at a cost of ₹40.46 crore
- The Bihar Grain Storage and Training Facility (BIGSMT) in Patna
These projects aim to strengthen the state’s agricultural infrastructure, boost farmer training, and enhance food grain storage capacity.

CM Lauds Departments for Accelerating Development
While addressing the event, CM Nitish Kumar congratulated all the departments involved—particularly Panchayati Raj, Building Construction, and Agriculture—for their significant contribution to Bihar’s development. He said:
“These initiatives will give a new direction and momentum to development work across the state. The people will directly benefit from improved infrastructure, thereby improving their standard of living.”
A short film on Panchayati Raj Department’s initiatives was also screened during the ceremony.
