Patna: In a significant step toward ensuring a successful and prosperous Rabi season, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the Rabi Campaign 2025–26 from his official residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna. As part of the campaign’s launch, the Chief Minister flagged off awareness vehicles equipped with LED displays, which will reach farmers across all 38 districts of the state.
These vehicles are part of a comprehensive state-wide outreach program by the Department of Agriculture, aiming to educate farmers at the panchayat level about modern farming techniques, government schemes, and available subsidies.
Objective: Boost Rabi Crop Yield and Farmer Awareness
The campaign’s core focus is to enhance the productivity and production capacity of Rabi crops in Bihar. With support from Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and agriculture extension workers, farmers will receive field-level guidance on:
- Modern farming techniques
- Climate-resilient agriculture
- Crop management strategies
- Government-run agricultural schemes
The campaign ensures transparent access to subsidies, training programs, and other government facilities, helping farmers make informed decisions and improve agricultural outcomes.
Subsidised Seeds and Inputs to Be Distributed
Under the Rabi campaign, farmers will receive access to certified seeds, fertilisers, and other key agricultural inputs at subsidised rates. The government is prioritising seeds of oilseeds, pulses, maize, wheat, and horticultural crops, with the dual aim of raising productivity while reducing input costs for farmers.
Empowering Farmers Through Technology and Self-Reliance
The Bihar government envisions that the campaign will transform farmers into self-reliant and competitive agricultural entrepreneurs. By equipping them with technical knowledge, modern tools, and access to government support, the initiative hopes to enable farmers to get better market prices and reduce their dependence on traditional farming practices.
The campaign is also aligned with the broader goal of agricultural transformation in Bihar, making farming more sustainable, technology-driven, and economically viable.

The launch ceremony was attended by several senior officials and ministers, including:
- Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Minister for Energy, Planning & Development
- Kedar Prasad Gupta, Panchayati Raj Minister
- Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister
- Dr. S. Siddharth, Development Commissioner
