New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has been conferred with the prestigious “Nishta ki Pratishta” award for its exemplary commitment to promoting and implementing the Official Language in all spheres of its functioning. The award was presented by Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Coal & Mines, Government of India, during the Hindi Advisory Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Coal held at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.

CMD NLCIL Receives the Prestigious Award

The award was received by Mr. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NLC India Limited, in the presence of senior Ministry officials, Hindi officers, and representatives from other coal sector companies. Alongside, Mr. Sumesh Kumar, Regional Manager (New Delhi) and Rajani Lankapalli, Hindi Officer, were also recognized for their dedicated efforts in promoting the use of Hindi.

Strengthening Hindi in Coal Sector

During the meeting, various coal PSUs made presentations on their Hindi implementation initiatives, followed by discussions on strategies to further strengthen the use of Hindi in official communication across the sector. NLCIL’s initiatives stood out for their systematic and proactive approach in integrating Hindi into day-to-day operations.

NLCIL’s Initiatives to Promote Hindi

NLCIL has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the Official Language through:

  • Organizing systematic training programs and quarterly Hindi competitions for employees.
  • Providing incentives for employees completing Prabodh, Praveen, and Pragya courses.
  • Conducting conversational Hindi classes across all Units, Projects, and Offices.
  • Engaging the public through social media updates in Hindi, highlighting official activities and achievements.

These initiatives ensure that NLCIL not only complies with the directives of the Department of Official Language but also fosters a culture of linguistic inclusivity among employees and stakeholders.

CMD Appreciates Team Efforts

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli expressed deep appreciation for the collective efforts of all NLCIL employees and acknowledged the continuous support of the Ministry of Coal in promoting the Official Language. He emphasized that this recognition underscores NLCIL’s commitment to administrative excellence and the government’s language policy.
