Leadership Updates: NMDC Limited Appoints C Neelakanta Reddy as Chief Vigilance Officer to Boost Governance

New Delhi/Hyderabad: C Neelakanta Reddy (IRSSE) has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NMDC Limited, India’s leading iron ore producer, effective October 27, 2025. A 1997-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers, Reddy brings over 25 years of extensive experience in infrastructure management, operational safety, and corporate governance.

Distinguished Career in Indian Railways

Reddy has had a distinguished career with the Indian Railways, serving in key positions across the South Central Railway. His responsibilities included corporate coordination, human resource management, capital budgeting, supply chain operations, delegation of powers, arbitration, transformation initiatives, and safety audits. He has played a pivotal role in modernizing systems on high-density railway routes, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Contribution to Skill Development and Technology Integration

Before joining NMDC, Reddy served at the Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET). There, he was instrumental in conceptualizing and conducting skill development and training programs for railway personnel and industry executives. His work focused on integrating modern technology systems to improve operational capabilities and efficiency across railway operations.

Academic and Professional Excellence

An alumnus of Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati, Reddy has also completed advanced management programs at ICLIF Kuala Lumpur, INSEAD Singapore, and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. This combination of technical expertise and management training positions him to bring a strategic perspective to NMDC’s vigilance and compliance initiatives.

With Reddy’s appointment as CVO, NMDC Limited aims to strengthen its vigilance framework and corporate governance standards. His leadership is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and operational integrity, ensuring NMDC continues to uphold its reputation as a trusted public sector enterprise in India’s mining and minerals sector.
