In a bold move to uplift tribal communities, NMDC Limited has launched two fully-sponsored educational programs in Chhattisgarh, aiming to create a skilled healthcare workforce and bridge the region’s medical service gap.
200 Nursing Seats Reserved for Tribal Girls
As part of its CSR initiative, NMDC has rolled out a comprehensive nursing education scheme exclusively for tribal girls from Bastar, Dantewada, Sukma, Kondagaon, Bijapur, and Narayanpur. The offering includes:
- 110 seats for B.Sc. Nursing (4-year course)
- 90 seats for GNM (3-year General Nursing and Midwifery course)
The PSU will bear the full cost of education, hostel, books, and other academic expenses—amounting to ₹12–15 lakh per student. Only ST candidates from families with annual incomes below ₹72,000 are eligible. Applications close on June 28, 2025.
Apollo University Partners for Allied Healthcare Programs
In collaboration with Apollo University, Chittoor, NMDC has also introduced a Medical Technology Program for tribal youth. The program features:
- 90 fully sponsored B.Sc. seats
- 60% seats for girls and 40% for boys
- Offered courses include:
- Emergency Medical Technology
- Imaging Technology
- Physician Assistant
- Anaesthesiology & OT Technology
- Renal Dialysis Technology
- Medical Lab Technology
Applications are open until June 30, 2025, with full financial backing from NMDC for every student enrolled.
