Noida: Noida International Airport (NIA), one of India’s most ambitious greenfield aviation projects, is rapidly taking shape as a testament to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strong leadership and forward-thinking vision. Positioned to redefine air connectivity for Delhi-NCR, the upcoming airport is expected to significantly boost the economic landscape of Western Uttar Pradesh, according to an official release.
Top Priority for Timely Completion
The Chief Minister has accorded the project the highest priority, personally reviewing progress to ensure that timelines are strictly adhered to. A key focus of his direction has been ensuring maximum benefits for the farmers and local families whose land made the project possible. The government’s efforts aim to ensure that the Project Affected Families (PAFs) not only receive compensation but also sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh said, “Special programs have been implemented to benefit the Project Affected Families (PAF) at the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.”
Large Corporate Participation and Job Creation
The Noida International Airport project is being executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, led by Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (YIAPL) and Noida International Airport Ltd. (NIAL). More than 30 prominent companies—including Tata Projects, Indian Oil and Bird Group—are actively participating in its development.
As part of the massive ongoing construction and operational ecosystem, over 5,000 employment opportunities are being generated, complete with government-regulated benefits such as minimum wages, provident fund, employee state insurance and gratuity.
Employment and Skill Development for PAF Youth
A structured employment initiative has been launched to ensure direct benefit to Project Affected Families. Over 180 candidates have been registered on the online career portal dedicated to connecting PAF youth with job opportunities. Three special recruitment camps have already seen the participation of more than 300 young candidates, with 24 receiving offer letters on the spot.
To further enhance employability, ITI Jewar has undergone extensive modernization. It now offers specialized training programs in passenger handling, ramp operations and other airport-related functions. Of the 28 youth trained under these modules, 24 have successfully secured jobs. Additionally, around 100 PAF youth have completed training in English language and soft skills, increasing their prospects in aviation and hospitality sectors.
A joint monitoring committee comprising NIAL, YIAPL and the district administration is overseeing all livelihood and rehabilitation initiatives to ensure transparency and timely benefits.
A World-Class, Sustainable Airport
Noida International Airport is being designed as a next-generation aviation hub committed to achieving net-zero emissions. The facility will embody a blend of Swiss operational precision and Indian hospitality, aiming for global benchmarks in passenger experience, sustainability and efficiency.
With an initial capacity to handle 1.2 crore passengers annually, the airport is set to become a major economic engine for Western Uttar Pradesh. Officials project that the airport will unlock large-scale opportunities across aviation, logistics, hospitality, retail and allied sectors.
A New Gateway of Growth for Western UP
Driven by CM Yogi Adityanath’s proactive governance and the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies, Noida International Airport is poised to become a cornerstone of regional development. Beyond infrastructure creation, the project is emerging as a catalyst for employment, skill-building and inclusive growth—ushering in a new era of economic transformation for Western Uttar Pradesh.
