New Delhi: The Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS), a unit of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), has been honoured with the Social Impact Award at the India for Bharat Conclave 2025, organized by Akhand-Jyoti Eye Hospital in New Delhi.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, in recognition of NAPS’ outstanding contribution to community welfare and social development initiatives. The accolade highlights the station’s continuous efforts in uplifting local communities while ensuring clean and sustainable energy generation.

Recognition of NAPS’ Commitment to Social Responsibility

The Social Impact Award acknowledges the sustained initiatives undertaken by NAPS in the area of community service — particularly in the field of eye care, public health, and social development. The recognition celebrates NAPS’ long-term collaboration with community organizations to provide free and accessible eye care services, thereby improving the quality of life for people in the surrounding regions.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, NAPS representatives stated that this award reinforces their commitment to combining energy security with social responsibility, emphasizing the belief that clean energy and community development must go hand in hand.

Through the safe and efficient generation of nuclear power, it contributes significantly to India’s clean energy goals while reducing the carbon footprint of the power sector. Alongside its operational excellence, the station has been proactive in social outreach programs, educational initiatives, and environmental stewardship.

A Mission of Service and Sustainability

Receiving the Social Impact Award serves as a strong encouragement for NAPS and NPCIL to continue their dual mission of powering the nation with clean energy and making a positive difference in society. Their commitment to social welfare through healthcare, education, and community engagement demonstrates how technology and compassion can work together to build a stronger, more inclusive India.
