During his visit to Araria, CM Nitish Kumar launched several projects focusing on roads, healthcare, education, irrigation, and basic infrastructure. The total investment in these initiatives is estimated at ₹546 crore, which is expected to significantly enhance the availability and quality of essential services in the district.

Focus on Law and Order

Addressing the public, CM Nitish Kumar highlighted the improvements in Bihar’s law and order since 2005, when the NDA government came to power. He noted that earlier, residents were afraid to step outside after dark due to safety concerns.

“Now the situation has completely changed,” he said, adding that Bihar has witnessed a significant reduction in fear and crime, making the state safer for its citizens. The CM reiterated that alongside law and order, his government has focused on major development works over the last two decades.

Major Improvements in Education and Healthcare

CM Nitish Kumar highlighted the transformation in Bihar’s education sector. Earlier, the state faced a shortage of teachers, but today, there are approximately 5.24 lakh government teachers, ensuring better learning environments for students.

In healthcare, the CM noted that earlier, few patients visited Primary Health Centers (PHCs). Now, on average, 11,600 patients per month are treated at PHCs, reflecting increased public trust in government health services.

Agricultural and Energy Initiatives

The CM also spoke about government initiatives in the agriculture sector. Bihar introduced its first agricultural roadmap in 2008, followed by successive roadmaps, with the fourth roadmap implemented between 2019 and 2024.

In the energy sector, the state plans to install solar panels on rooftops of 50 lakh households, providing residents with affordable and clean energy.

Financial Assistance for Poor Families

CM Nitish Kumar shared details about economic support for Bihar’s underprivileged families. Following caste-based surveys conducted in 2023, the state identified around 94 lakh poor families across all communities.

“These families will receive financial assistance, and in special cases, support exceeding ₹2 lakh may also be provided,” he said, underlining the government’s commitment to social welfare.

Through the third phase of Samriddhi Yatra, CM Nitish Kumar has demonstrated Bihar’s commitment to inclusive development, focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and welfare of marginalized communities. The launch of ₹546 crore development projects in Araria is a step toward improving the standard of living and reinforcing Bihar’s growth trajectory under the state government’s proactive initiatives.
