NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power generation company, has announced the appointment of Dr. Kanchiappan Ghayathri Devi (alias Dr. K. Ghayathri Devi) and Sushil Kumar Choudhary as Additional Directors (Independent Directors) on its Board. Their appointments are effective from May 19, 2025, for a period of three years from the notification date of May 15, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
About Dr. K. Ghayathri Devi
Dr. Ghayathri Devi is a seasoned medical practitioner with over two decades of service at Suryaa Diagnostics since 1997. Alongside her medical career, she has been deeply engaged in social service and education administration. She currently serves as:

2)Director at Suriyaa Diagnostics and SSNT College, Chennai

Dr. Ghayathri holds an MBBS from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, a Diploma in Medical Cosmetology from Annamalai University, and an MBA in Hospital Management & Health Administration from Anna University. She is not related to any other director on the NTPC Board.
About Sushil Kumar Choudhary
Mr. Sushil Kumar Choudhary holds an M.A. and M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, specializing in Ancient Indian History and International Politics. He is currently the Owner-proprietor of Mukti Nath Petroleum, a role he has held since 2023.
With these appointments, NTPC continues to strengthen its board with diverse expertise across public service, healthcare, education, politics, and business—ensuring broader perspectives in its strategic decision-making.
