New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has signed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply green ammonia under the Government of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. The agreement was executed on March 30, 2026, marking a significant step in India’s transition to clean fuels and industrial decarbonization.
Key Details of the Green Ammonia Agreement
The agreement involves the annual supply of 70,000 metric tonnes (MTPA) of green ammonia, which will be delivered to Krishna Phoschem Limited, located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. SECI will act as the intermediary procurer for this supply under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme.
The SIGHT Scheme is a key initiative under the National Green Hydrogen Mission aimed at promoting large-scale production and utilization of green hydrogen and its derivatives, including green ammonia.
