Mumbai: In a major step towards reinforcing power security and infrastructure in the coastal state of Goa, NTPC Ltd., India’s largest integrated energy company, signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Electricity Department, Government of Goa (ED-Goa) for power allocation from the upcoming Sipat Stage-III project in Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh.
PPA Signed to Secure Power from Sipat Stage-III
The agreement was signed at the Goa Electricity Department office in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
Representing NTPC was P. R. Jena, General Manager (Commercial), NTPC WR-I Headquarters.
Signing on behalf of the Goa government was Steffen Fernandes, Chief Electrical Engineer, Electricity Department.
This PPA ensures allocation of power to Goa from the Sipat Stage-III power station, further diversifying the state’s energy sources and strengthening the reliability of its power supply.
