Talcher Kaniha: NTPC Talcher Kaniha, in collaboration with the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of MSME, successfully organized the Khadi Mahotsav from 16th to 20th October 2025. The event, held at the Deep Tarang Kalyan Mandap, aimed to celebrate Khadi, support village industries, and highlight NTPC’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment.
Inauguration and Key Dignitaries
The Mahotsav was inaugurated by Mr. K.N. Reddy, Executive Director of NTPC Talcher Kaniha. The event witnessed the presence of prominent officials including Mr. Ch. Satya Ram Krishna, CGM (O&M), Mr. Navneet Kumar, Head of Human Resources, and Mr. Subash Chhetri, Director of KVIC.
The gathering also included representatives from Tanvi Sangam, various unions and associations, and members of the Deep Tarang Committee, reflecting strong community participation and support for the initiative.
Theme: “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi”
Under the inspiring theme “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi,” the Khadi Mahotsav celebrated the traditional fabric and crafts of India, emphasizing the importance of Khadi as a symbol of self-reliance and sustainable living. The event promoted the ethos of ‘Make in India’ by encouraging the use of indigenous products and supporting the livelihoods of local artisans and rural entrepreneurs.
Through exhibitions, awareness programs, and stalls displaying handcrafted Khadi products, the Mahotsav provided a platform for village industries to showcase their skills and products to a wider audience, creating new opportunities for economic upliftment.

The Khadi Mahotsav reinforced NTPC’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. By collaborating with KVIC and local bodies, NTPC is fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and economic self-sufficiency in the region.
