The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently set up a state-of-the-art “Shoot House” at its Recruit Training Centre (RTC) in Lethpora near Srinagar. The facility was inaugurated by CRPF Director General G. P. Singh to strengthen operational preparedness of security personnel working in Kashmir.

According to official statements, the facility has been created to provide specialised training in high-risk operations such as room intervention and close-quarters battle situations that security forces often face during counter-terror missions.

Officials emphasise that modern combat situations demand precision, speed, and teamwork.

The shoot house allows trainers to recreate dynamic scenarios where personnel must make quick decisions under pressure. Cameras and monitoring systems record training sessions so that instructors can conduct after-action reviews and help personnel improve their tactics.

By practising in simulated real-world environments, CRPF teams can prepare for complex operations before facing them in the field.

A shoot house—also known as a kill house—is a specialised training structure used by military and law-enforcement agencies to practise combat in confined spaces such as buildings or houses.

These facilities simulate real-life urban environments so that troops can train under realistic conditions.
